Eric Thomas

Eric Thomas is a motivational speaker, author, and minister. He is commonly referred to as “The Hip Hop Preacher.” Thomas was a high school dropout, but was eventually able to obtain his master’s degree in 2005 and later become a successful motivational speaker. His career as a motivational speaker started with the video “Secrets to Success,” and later led to “T.G.I.M. (Thank God It’s Monday),” a series of motivational videos usually released on Mondays to YouTube. Additionally, Thomas published an autobiography entitled The Secret to Success (2011). Thomas has consulted for Michigan State University, where he developed The Advantage Program for academically high-risk students of color.
