Mark Russell
Mark Russell was born and grew up in Buffalo, New York. After high school, he briefly attended George Washington University and then joined the Marines. Russell started working as a comedian, performing regularly at the Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. beginning in the early 1960s. He also had a series of comedy albums during the Watergate scandal. Russell is best known as a political comedian, and particularly for his series of PBS comedy specials. Russell has appeared on TV shows, including Meet the Press and Real People. He continues to write political humor and perform publicly.
