Peter F. Drucker

Peter Drucker was born in Vienna, Austria-Hungary in 1909. As a young man, Drucker immigrated to Germany, and then to England to find work. In 1943, he became a naturalized citizen of the U.S. Drucker became New York University’s Professor of Management in 1950 and held this position for 21 years. In the 1970s, Drucker founded one of the country’s first executive MBA programs at Claremont Graduate University, where he was a professor until his death in 2005. Besides being a leader in management education, Drucker was a successful and pioneering business author, whose 39 books have been translated into more than 30 languages. Drucker is responsible for inventing many important business management concepts, including “management by objectives” and “knowledge worker.”
