Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs was one of the most important figures in the computer revolution that began in the late twentieth century. He was born to a couple of college students, and adopted soon after. Jobs was a bright child, the school recommended he skip two grades, though he only skipped one, but not a particularly good student. While in high school, Jobs met Steve Wozniak, with whom he would later found Apple. Jobs went to college for six months, before dropping out. He worked briefly for Atari, before spending seven months in India and then returning to Atari. In 1976, he co-founded Apple with Wozniak. Jobs stayed with Apple until he was forced out in1985, and went on to found NeXT. Apple bought NeXT in 1996, bringing Jobs back to the company. Jobs quickly became the driving force behind Apple and remained involved with the company until his death from pancreatic cancer in 2011.
