About This Quote

This quote is from neuroeconomist Paul Zak’s 2011 TED Talk about oxytocin, or what Zak calls “The Moral Molecule.” According to Zak, oxytocin, a mammalian hormone that is associated with intimacy, helps forge relationships between people because it makes us feel empathy. Says Zak in this quote, it is easy to trigger your brain to release oxytocin — just hug someone!
