This quote is a twist on the old saying “Fake it till you make it.” It means that you shouldn’t just act confident in your abilities until you achieve success (which is what the old saying means); you should act confident until you actually are confident. In her TEDTalk that is the source of this quote, psychologist Amy Cuddy explains that the way to “fake it till you become it” is through your body language.
