A. A. Milne
Alan Alexander Milne (1882–1956) was an English author best known for creating Winnie-the-Pooh. Born in London, he studied mathematics at Trinity College, Cambridge, and wrote for the humor magazine *Punch*, later serving as an assistant editor. Milne also served in the British Army during World War I. He wrote novels, essays, and plays, but achieved lasting fame through his children’s books featuring Christopher Robin, Pooh, Piglet, and Eeyore, illustrated by E. H. Shepard. Key works include *Winnie-the-Pooh* (1926) and *The House at Pooh Corner* (1928), as well as the poetry collections *When We Were Very Young* (1924) and *Now We Are Six* (1927).
