A.W. Tozer

Aiden Wilson Tozer (1897–1963) was an American Christian pastor, writer, and devotional author. Largely self-educated, he became a prominent voice in 20th-century evangelical spirituality. Tozer served for many years as a pastor within the Christian and Missionary Alliance, including a long pastorate at Southside Alliance Church in Chicago, and later ministered in Toronto. He also wrote extensively as an editor for the Alliance Weekly (later Alliance Life). His best-known books include *The Pursuit of God* (1948) and *The Knowledge of the Holy* (1961), works that emphasize reverence for God, spiritual depth, and the inner life of faith.
