Alice Sebold

Alice Sebold (born 1963) is an American novelist and memoirist. She is best known for her memoir *Lucky* (1999) and her novel *The Lovely Bones* (2002). *Lucky* recounts her experience of sexual assault and its aftermath. *The Lovely Bones*, narrated by a murdered teenage girl, became an international bestseller and was adapted into a feature film released in 2009. Sebold later published the novel *The Almost Moon* (2007). She has also written essays and contributed to literary publications. Sebold’s work is noted for its direct treatment of trauma, grief, and survival, and for blending intimate personal experience with fiction.
