Allan Fromme

Dr. Alan Fromme was an American psychologist, writer, and educator. Fromme was educated at Columbia University and worked as a therapist in New York City for 50 years. He also taught at Columbia University, as well as at City College of New York and Sarah Lawrence College. Fromme made numerous appearances on TV and radio and also authored eight books and many magazine articles on popular psychology topics. Some of Fromme’s books included ABC of Child Care, A Woman’s Critical Years, and How Children Fail. Dr. Fromme was known for advocating a gentle but disciplined approach to childrearing.
