Amy Poehler

Amy Poehler (born September 16, 1971) is an American comedian, actress, writer, and producer. She first gained prominence as a founding member of the Upright Citizens Brigade, performing improvisational comedy in Chicago and New York. Poehler joined NBC’s *Saturday Night Live* in 2001, becoming a cast member and later co-anchoring “Weekend Update.” She starred as Leslie Knope in the NBC sitcom *Parks and Recreation* (2009–2015), earning multiple Emmy and Golden Globe nominations and winning a Golden Globe for *Parks and Recreation*. Her film work includes *Mean Girls* and *Inside Out*. Poehler co-founded the production company Paper Kite Productions.
