Andreas Schleicher

Andreas Schleicher (born 1964) is a German education researcher and an official at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). He is best known for his work on international comparisons of education systems and for helping shape the OECD’s Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), a large-scale study that measures student performance across participating countries and economies. At the OECD he has served as Director for Education and Skills, a role associated with analysis and policy advice on schooling, skills, and lifelong learning. Schleicher is frequently cited in debates on education reform, equity, and the use of data to improve outcomes.
