Quotes
Anna Freud
Anna Freud was the youngest child of Sigmund Freud and Martha Barnays. Anna was a depressive child and became a teacher as a young adult. From 1918–1922, Anna received psychoanalysis treatment from her father. In 1923, Anna began her own psychoanalytical practice. In contrast to her father, Anna’s work emphasized child psychology and the importance of training the ego. In 1938, the Freuds fled from Austria to London to escape the Nazis, and Anna continued her practice in London while caring for her father, who died in 1939. Anna continued to contribute to the field of child psychoanalysis through writings, studies, and lectures until the end of her life.
