April Greiman

April Greiman (born 1948) is an American graphic designer whose work helped shape postmodern and New Wave approaches to graphic design. Based in Los Angeles, she became known for embracing emerging digital technologies in the 1980s and for integrating typography, photography, and layered imagery into dynamic compositions. Greiman studied at the Allgemeine Kunstgewerbeschule in Basel, Switzerland, where she was influenced by Swiss design principles, then brought those ideas into a more experimental, California-inflected visual language. Her projects span posters, publications, and environmental graphics, and she has been recognized for expanding the possibilities of typographic and visual communication in the digital era.
