Arthur Brisbane

Arthur Brisbane (1864–1936) was an American newspaper editor and widely read journalist and columnist. Born in Buffalo, New York, he became one of the most prominent figures in U.S. journalism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Brisbane worked for Joseph Pulitzer’s *New York World* and later joined William Randolph Hearst, serving as editor of the *New York Journal* and as a key editorial voice in Hearst’s newspaper empire. Known for his energetic, populist style and talent for shaping headlines and campaigns, he helped define mass-circulation journalism of his era. He died in 1936.
