Barbra Streisand

Barbra Streisand (born 1942) is an American singer, actress, filmmaker, and author. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she rose to prominence in the 1960s as a recording artist and Broadway performer, then became a major film star. Streisand won the Academy Award for Best Actress for *Funny Girl* (1968) and later directed and starred in films including *Yentl* (1983), *The Prince of Tides* (1991), and *The Mirror Has Two Faces* (1996). She is one of the few entertainers to achieve EGOT status (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony). In 2023 she published the memoir *My Name Is Barbra*.
