Beyoncé Knowles

Beyoncé Knowles was born and raised in Houston, Texas. As a child, Knowles performed in dancing and singing competitions. In her teens, Knowles rose to fame as the lead singer of Destiny’s Child, one of the best-selling girl groups of all time. Knowles released her first solo album, Dangerously in Love, in 2003. Destiny’s Child disbanded in 2005, and Knowles went on to release the albums B-Day (2006), I Am … Sasha Fierce (2008), and 4 (2011). She has also acted in several films, including 2006’s Dream Girls. Knowles married rapper Jay Z in 2008, and the couple gave birth to their first child, daughter Blue Ivy Carter, in 2012.
