Bill Copeland

Bill Copeland was born in Lilburn, Georgia in 1946. He earned a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from the University of Georgia, and worked as a probation counselor, parole officer and disability adjudicator. Copeland then started a private practice, from which he retired in 1995 at age 49. In retirement, Copeland began to write historical fiction and poetry. His first novel, Ashes to Vistula (2007) won multiple awards, and his “Desert People’s Trilogy” won the National Writer’s Association Novel Contest. Copeland’s acclaimed career as a writer was, unfortunately, short-lived; he died in 2010 of liver failure.
