Bing Crosby

Bing Crosby (1903–1977) was an American singer and actor whose relaxed vocal style helped shape 20th‑century popular music. Born in Tacoma, Washington, and raised in Spokane, he rose to fame in the early 1930s through radio, recordings, and film. Crosby became one of the best-selling recording artists in history, closely associated with the holiday standard “White Christmas.” He also enjoyed major success in Hollywood, starring in numerous features, including the “Road” films with Bob Hope and Dorothy Lamour. In 1945 he won the Academy Award for Best Actor for *Going My Way*. Crosby remained a prominent entertainer for decades.
