Bonnie Tyler (born Gaynor Hopkins on 8 June 1951) is a Welsh singer known for her distinctive, husky voice. She rose to international fame in the 1970s and 1980s with a run of hit singles. Her breakthrough came with “Lost in France” and “It’s a Heartache,” and she later scored major successes with “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and “Holding Out for a Hero,” both written by Jim Steinman and produced by Roy Thomas Baker.
