Bram Stoker

Abraham “Bram” Stoker (1847–1912) was an Irish author best known for the Gothic novel *Dracula* (1897). Born in Dublin, he studied at Trinity College Dublin and later worked as a civil servant. Stoker became closely associated with the theatre, serving as business manager for actor Henry Irving and working at London’s Lyceum Theatre, experiences that shaped his sense of drama and atmosphere. Alongside journalism and criticism, he wrote fiction including *The Snake’s Pass* (1890) and *The Jewel of Seven Stars* (1903). Stoker died in London in 1912, leaving a lasting influence on modern vampire literature.
