Bruce Springsteen

Bruce Springsteen (born 1949) is an American singer-songwriter and musician widely known as “The Boss.” Raised in Freehold, New Jersey, he emerged in the early 1970s and became the frontman of the E Street Band, blending rock with narratives of working-class life. His breakthrough came with *Born to Run* (1975), followed by landmark albums including *Darkness on the Edge of Town* (1978), *The River* (1980), and *Born in the U.S.A.* (1984). Springsteen has won multiple Grammy Awards and an Academy Award, and he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999. He published the memoir *Born to Run* in 2016.
