Buddy Hackett

Buddy Hackett (1924–2003) was an American comedian and actor celebrated for his warm, self-deprecating humor and energetic storytelling. Born Leonard Hacker in Brooklyn, New York, he began performing in nightclubs and on television before becoming a familiar face in Hollywood comedies. Hackett appeared in major films including *The Music Man* (1962) and *It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World* (1963), and he also worked extensively in variety shows and live stand-up. Over a long career, he became known for his distinctive voice, quick improvisation, and broad appeal across generations.
