Camille Desmoulins
Camille Desmoulins (1760–1794) was a French journalist, pamphleteer, and political figure of the French Revolution. Born in Guise, he studied law and became known for his fiery political writing and oratory. In July 1789 he helped spark popular action in Paris with an impassioned call to arms, and he soon emerged as a prominent revolutionary voice. Desmoulins was associated with the Cordeliers Club and was a close ally of Georges Danton. Through his pamphlets and newspapers he championed republican ideals, later urging moderation as revolutionary violence escalated. Arrested amid factional संघर्ष, he was guillotined in 1794 during the Reign of Terror.
