Carol Burnett

Carol Burnett (born April 26, 1933) is an American comedian, actress, singer, and writer. She rose to national prominence with *The Carol Burnett Show* (1967–1978), a landmark variety series blending sketch comedy, music, and guest performances. Burnett also appeared on Broadway and in film and television, including roles in *Annie* (1982) and *Noises Off* (1992). Her work has been recognized with major honors, including multiple Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. She has also written memoirs about her life and career.
