Cary Grant

Cary Grant (1904–1986) was an English-born American film actor and one of classic Hollywood’s most enduring leading men. Born Archibald Alec Leach in Bristol, England, he moved to the United States with a touring troupe and began performing on stage before entering films. Grant became a major star in the 1930s and 1940s, known for his polished screen persona, comic timing, and work in screwball comedies, romances, and thrillers. His notable films include *Bringing Up Baby*, *His Girl Friday*, *Notorious*, and *North by Northwest*. In 1970 he received an Academy Honorary Award.
