Catherine Aird
Catherine Aird is the pen name of the crime fiction novelist Kinn Hamilton McIntosh. Aird was born in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England in 1930. As a young woman, she was bedridden with a serious illness. When she recovered, she worked at her father’s medical practice and began to write fiction. Aird published her first novel, The Religious Body, in 1966. Aird is best known for her crime novel series, Chronicles of Calleshire. She has published a total of 24 novels, in addition to three collections, six short stories, and two works of non-fiction. Aird lives in the English village of Sturry.
