Catherine Zeta-Jones

Catherine Zeta-Jones was born in Swansea, Wales in September 1969. She started pursuing her acting ambitions as a child, landing the lead in Annie at Swansea Grand Theatre. After various theater productions, Zeta-Jones made her film debut in Les 1001 Nuits in 1990 and found moderate success in various TV projects. Her appearance in the mini-series Titanic got her noticed by Steven Spielberg, who recommended her to Martin Campbell, the director of The Mask of Zorro (1996). After The Mask of Zorro, Zeta-Jones starred in the film Entrapment, followed by Traffic with future husband Michael Douglas. In 2003, Zeta-Jones won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film Chicago.
