Charles Leadbeater

Charles Webster Leadbeater (1854–1934) was an English theosophist, author, and prominent member of the Theosophical Society. Ordained in the Church of England, he later became associated with the Society and worked closely with leading figures in the modern theosophical movement. Leadbeater wrote widely on theosophical teachings and related esoteric subjects, producing influential books that helped popularize the Society’s ideas for a broad readership. He also served in organizational roles within the Theosophical Society and spent significant periods in India and Australia. His career was marked by both strong support from followers and public controversy.
