Charles Osgood

Charles Osgood (1933–2024) was an American journalist and broadcaster known for his distinctive, often poetic style. He became a familiar national voice through CBS, serving as host of *CBS News Sunday Morning* for more than two decades (1994–2016). Osgood also created and anchored the radio commentary series *The Osgood File*, which aired for many years on CBS Radio. Over his career he covered major news and cultural stories while cultivating a warm, reflective on-air persona. He received multiple honors, including several Emmy Awards, and was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame. Osgood remained a widely recognized figure in American broadcast journalism.
