Charles R. Swindoll

Charles Rozell “Chuck” Swindoll was born in El Campo, Texas in 1934. In school, he excelled in drama and music. After graduating high school, Swindoll studied mechanical engineering and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He then attended Dallas Theological Seminary and was ordained into the ministry in 1963. Swindoll has held senior pastorates in Waltham, Massachusetts; Irving, Texas; Fullerton, California; and Frisco, Texas. Additionally, he is the chancellor of the Dallas Theological Seminary. In 1998, Swindoll founded the Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco. Swindoll is also the founder of Insight for Living, which produces a Christian radio program of the same name. Swindoll has written more than 70 books, based on his sermons.
