Chip Kidd

Chip Kidd (born 1964) is an American graphic designer and writer known for influential book cover designs. He joined Alfred A. Knopf in the mid-1980s and became closely associated with the publisher’s distinctive visual identity, designing covers for a wide range of authors and genres. Kidd is also recognized for his work on book design and typography, and for public talks and writing about the craft of visual communication. As an author, he has written fiction, including the novel *The Cheese Monkeys* (2001), which draws on experiences in the world of graphic design. His career bridges literary culture and contemporary design.
