Chris Rose

Chris Rose (born 1958) is an American journalist and columnist for *The Times-Picayune* in New Orleans. He became widely known for his reported, personal columns written in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, which chronicled the city’s devastation and the lives of residents navigating loss and recovery. His Katrina-era work was later collected in the book *1 Dead in Attic: After Katrina*, which helped bring national attention to New Orleans’ long rebuilding process. Rose’s writing is noted for its close observation, empathy, and clear-eyed portrayal of everyday experience during crisis and its long aftermath.
