Clay Shirky

Clay Shirky is an American writer, consultant, and speaker known for analyzing the social and economic effects of the internet and digital media. He has written widely on how online tools reshape communication, collaboration, and collective action. Shirky is the author of *Here Comes Everybody: The Power of Organizing Without Organizations* (2008) and *Cognitive Surplus: Creativity and Generosity in a Connected Age* (2010), books that explore how networked technologies enable new forms of participation and cultural production. He was a professor at New York University, where he taught and researched topics related to digital media and society.
