Danny Kaye
Danny Kaye was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1913. After dropping out of high school, Kaye held a number of odd jobs, finally getting his big break as an actor in the vaudeville dance act in 1933 in “Three Terpsichoreans.” In 1935, Kaye made his film debut in Moon Over Manhattan. Kaye would ultimately star in 17 popular movies, including The Kid from Brooklyn, White Christmas, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The Inspector General, and others. He also starred in the radio program The Danny Kaye Show from 1945-1946. Kaye was active in donating to charity throughout his life and was also an avid cook and aviator. He died in 1987 at age 74.
