David Halberstam

David Halberstam (1934–2007) was an American journalist and author known for reporting and writing on politics, war, and American institutions. He worked as a newspaper reporter and gained national attention for his coverage of the Vietnam War. In 1964, he won the Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting. Halberstam later became a prolific book author, combining narrative storytelling with investigative detail. His best-known works include *The Best and the Brightest* (on U.S. decision-making in Vietnam) and *The Powers That Be* (a study of American media). He also wrote widely on sports and modern U.S. history.
