David Letterman

David Letterman (born April 12, 1947) is an American television host, comedian, writer, and producer. Raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, he studied telecommunications at Ball State University. After moving to Los Angeles, he worked as a stand-up comedian and television writer before joining NBC. Letterman gained national prominence as host of *Late Night with David Letterman* (1982–1993), known for its offbeat humor and innovative segments. He later moved to CBS to host *Late Show with David Letterman* (1993–2015). Through his company Worldwide Pants, he produced television programs including *Everybody Loves Raymond*. He is a recipient of multiple Emmy Awards.
