Dennis Crowley

Dennis Crowley (born 1977) is an American entrepreneur and software developer best known for co-founding the location-based social networking service Foursquare. He previously co-founded the mobile local search company Dodgeball, which was acquired by Google. After leaving Google, he helped launch Foursquare, a service built around location sharing and “check-ins,” and served as its chief executive. Crowley studied at Syracuse University and later earned a master’s degree from New York University’s Interactive Telecommunications Program. His work has focused on consumer products that connect people to places, blending mapping, mobile technology, and social networking.
