Don Herold

Don Herold (1889–1966) was an American humorist, writer, and illustrator best known for witty essays and aphorisms that appeared widely in early-to-mid 20th-century magazines and books. He developed a reputation for concise, conversational humor that mixed everyday observation with gently satirical commentary on modern life, manners, and human foibles. Herold’s work often took the form of short pieces designed for quick reading, yet it aimed for lasting punch through carefully turned phrases and memorable one-liners.
