Douglas MacArthur
Dougls MacArthur was born into a military family in the American Old West. MacArthur graduated valedictorian from the West Texas Military Academy and at the top of his class as First Captain at West Point. MacArthur became Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army in the 1930s, playing a prominent role in the Pacific Theater during WWII. MacArthur earned more than 100 military decorations during his career, including the Medal of Honor, Purple Heart, and Distinguished Service Cross. One of only five men to rise to the rank of General of the U.S. Army, MacArthur was so popular with the American public that a dance step was even named after him. He died in 1964 at age 84.
