Dudley Field Malone

Dudley Field Malone born in 1882 in New York City. Malone attended College of St. Francis Xavier and studied law at Fordham University. Malone became a lawyer and was active in New York’s Democratic Party. In 1912, Malone helped organize Woodrow Wilson’s presidential campaign, and in 1913, Malone became President Wilson’s Third Assistant Secretary of State and Collector of the Port of New York. After resigning as Collector in 1917, Malone resumed his law practice. In 1925, Malone served as co-counsel for John T. Scopes’s defense in the famous “Monkey Trial.” In the 1930s, Malone moved to California, serving as counsel to 20th Century Fox and working as an actor.
