Dylan Thomas

Dylan Thomas (1914–1953) was a Welsh poet and writer, born in Swansea, Wales. Celebrated for his vivid imagery and musical language, he became one of the best-known English-language poets of the 20th century. His poetry includes the villanelle “Do not go gentle into that good night,” written for his father, and other major works such as “Fern Hill.” Thomas also wrote stories, essays, and radio scripts. His most famous dramatic work is the radio play *Under Milk Wood*, first broadcast in 1954 after his death. Thomas died in New York City at age 39.
