Eartha Kitt

Eartha Kitt (1927–2008) was an American singer, actress, and performer known for her distinctive voice and magnetic stage presence. Born in South Carolina, she rose to international fame in the 1950s with recordings such as “C’est Si Bon” and the holiday classic “Santa Baby.” Kitt also built a notable acting career on stage and screen, including a celebrated turn as Catwoman on the television series *Batman* (1967–68). Her work spanned cabaret, Broadway, film, and television, and she earned multiple Tony Award nominations and Grammy nominations. Kitt also wrote memoir and other works, reflecting on her life and career.
