Emily Brontë
Emily Brontë (1818–1848) was an English novelist and poet, best known for her only novel, *Wuthering Heights* (1847). She was born in Thornton, Yorkshire, and grew up in Haworth, where her father, Patrick Brontë, served as curate. Emily was part of the Brontë literary family, alongside her sisters Charlotte and Anne, and her brother Branwell. In 1846, Emily and her sisters published a joint poetry collection under the pseudonyms Currer, Ellis, and Acton Bell; Emily wrote as Ellis Bell. She died in Haworth in 1848, aged 30.
