Eric Butterworth

Eric Butterworth was born in Winnipeg, Canada in 1916. After studying music at Fresno State and Capital University, Butterworth joined the U.S. Army’s Medical Corps, serving as medical personnel and as a chaplain. He then graduated from Unity Ministerial School and established the Detroit Unity Temple, where more than 2,000 people attended his services each week. It was in Detroit that Butterworth wrote his first book, Unity: A Quest for Truth. Eric went on to open several other ministries and to write more than a dozen more books on spirituality and metaphysics, including Discover the Power Within You. He also had a radio show, “Eric Butterworth Speaks.” Butterworth died in 2003 at age 86.
