Eric Roth

Eric Roth (born 1945) is an American screenwriter. He co-wrote the screenplay for *Forrest Gump* (1994), adapted from Winston Groom’s novel, and received the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for that film. Roth also co-wrote *The Insider* (1999) and *Munich* (2005), and wrote the screenplay for *The Curious Case of Benjamin Button* (2008), based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s short story. He co-wrote *A Star Is Born* (2018). His work is known for character-driven storytelling and adaptations of existing material for the screen.
