Eric Sevareid

Eric Sevareid (1912–1992) was an American journalist and broadcast commentator best known for his work with CBS News. A member of the famed “Murrow Boys,” he reported during World War II and became a prominent voice in radio and television news. Sevareid was noted for his reflective, essay-like commentaries, bringing literary style and analysis to current events. Over a long career he covered major political and international developments and helped shape the tone of mid‑century American broadcast journalism. He also wrote books, including the memoir *Not So Wild a Dream*, which recounts his early life and path into reporting.
