Estelle Morris

Estelle Morris (born 1952) is an Australian politician who served in the Parliament of Australia as the Labor Member for Bonner (1996–2004). She was appointed to the federal ministry and held the portfolio of Minister for Education, Science and Training from 2001 to 2003. In that role she was responsible for national policy across schools, higher education, research and science. Morris’s parliamentary career included work on education and community issues, and she was part of the Australian Labor Party’s representation from Queensland in the House of Representatives. After leaving federal politics in 2004, she has remained a public figure associated with education and public policy.
