Evan Williams

Evan Williams (born March 31, 1972) is an American entrepreneur known for co-founding several influential internet publishing platforms. He co-founded Pyra Labs, which created Blogger, one of the early popular blogging services. Williams later co-founded Odeo, and from that effort helped launch Twitter, serving as its CEO from 2008 to 2010. He also co-founded Medium, a publishing platform for long-form writing. Raised in rural Nebraska, he attended the University of Nebraska–Lincoln before leaving to pursue technology work. Williams has been associated with the broader shift toward user-generated content and social communication online through products that made publishing and sharing widely accessible.
