Florynce Rae Kennedy

Florynce Rae Kennedy (1916–2000) was an American lawyer, feminist, civil rights activist, and author known for her outspoken advocacy on race and gender equality. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, she later worked in New York City, where she became a prominent public voice in the women’s liberation movement. Kennedy used her legal training and sharp rhetoric to challenge discrimination and to defend activists, and she frequently appeared in the media as a critic of sexism and racism. She wrote and spoke widely, combining political organizing with commentary that emphasized bodily autonomy, free expression, and equal rights.
